Three Poems | by Danny P. Barbare

How the Janitor Works

Pride says the janitor

as if so square

wiping down the

the table tops

work is to shine

as if the only corners

are an old fashion

bottle of spray and a

rag.

A Day in the Life of a Janitor

Have a great day says the

janitor

respectively

as if it is a reflection on him

even if the door just

shuts

oh how the floor shines

and a cold sip of a water

fountain

is still delicious.

The Janitor Cleans the Board

Says the janitor, I’m wiping

down the board

so tomorrow will be a little

easier

and the marker simple

as today is soaked up like a cold

wet rag as if to

remember.
